First full day here on the south Sri Lankan coast near Galle. We arrived after a nightmare flight with delays at Heathrow of over 5 hours. Traveled down from Colombo shooting the first scenes along he way for programme 5 of BBC series Indian Ocean today. Unfortunately,we got caught in the torrential inter monsoon rains and lost two hours of filming.Bit of a problem when it gets dark at just after 5 pm !
Gallle Fort is an imposing old Dutch settlement on the outskirts of the city but much of the rest of Galle has been extensively modernized after the 2004 Tsunami hit.
Hopefully I will get to play with my brand new Atomos Samurai as well tomorrow ! Fingers crossed for good light and new technology !!
